Dear AEC Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We are excited to welcome students back to the Alternative Education Center—home to Valley View, CDS, CDOHS, CSOP, DASP, and more. While each school and program is unique, we share one mission: to create real opportunities, build powerful connections, cultivate a culture of learning, and lead with grace.

This year, we’re focused on helping every student become Future Ready by developing essential life skills:

🔹 Adaptable – resilient and self-aware
🔹 Engaged – active and invested in learning
🔹 College & Career Ready – prepared for success beyond high school

To support this growth, students will practice Future Ready Habits:

📵 Phones silenced and put away in backpacks or teacher designated cell phone caddies during instructional time
🛑 Students should be on time to all classes (and use Digital Hall Pass system at sites where applicable)
👔 Dressing for success each day to reflect readiness to learn and adhere to District Dress Standards

These habits help students focus, take responsibility, and build confidence for the future.

We’re proud to partner with you for a year full of growth, learning, and connection.

See you soon,

Mrs. Prestsater
Principal, Alternative Education Center
